"Black And Blue"

Sitting alone under the night sky so dark,

No one realizes what she's keeping down,

Pulling her sleeves past the beat up,

When these wounds blur they'll return once more.

Taking a gander at the stars so high,

Now and again she wishes she could soften into the sky,

Out of her eye drops a solitary tear,

As she understands she needs to face her most noticeably bad apprehension.

At the considered home she shades,

Furthermore, a supplication to God for help she mumbles,

Her irate father's face shakes in her mind,

Furthermore, her broken heart loads with fear.

The front entryway squeaks as she ventures inside,

Hopping over lager containers she rushes to cover up,

Sliding under her bed she tries not to make a sound,

Past the point of no return: the floor squeaks as she touches the ground.

She tries to keep down the tears, he hits her harder when she sobs,

Yet, they slip out as the substantial steps get closer, she's scared,

The entryway hammers open, the torment is going to come,

Her father's garments smell like smoke and rum.

He lifts her up by a lump of her hair,

Taking the first punch he starts to swear,

She sobs for help, yet its to late,

He won't stop till he's got out all the contempt.

A day by day schedule, yet today its not the same,

Today evening time the end of the beating never came,

A couple of hours after the fact the rescue vehicle arrives,

Her life is over at 5 years old.
